Product Description: PRO-Tekt Caulk is a two-component, self-leveling, fast-drying, flexible, hybrid urethane-polyurea caulk. It is specially designed for repairing horizontal cracks and horizontal control joints in concrete. Typical Applications: • Warehouses, loading docks, manufacturing, and industrial facilities • Food processing, walk in freezers, and cold storage units • Walkways and decks at airports, parking garages and wastewater treatment facilities Advantages: • Quick curing formula • Excellent flexibility • Can be applied in cold temperatures • Zero VOC’s Complies With: • California AQMD requirement • Meets USDA requirements for incidental contact, including wet food areas Preparation: • All areas of concrete to be treated must be free from loose sand, dirt, dust, oil, grease, sealers, paint, existing coatings, and other foreign substances that could interfere with adhesion. • Concrete must be at least 28 days old, and must have reached a minimum 3,000 psi (20 MPa) compressive strength. • Joints must be cut according to ACI recommendations. • Crack and joint edges must be at a straight 90° angle to the horizontal plane of the concrete slab. Chase all cracks to a depth of at least 2” (5.08 cm). • When repairing T-joints, cut joint to a depth of at least 25% of the total depth of the slab. The side of the T-joint must be cut 12” (20.4 cm) from the joint and a minimum of 2” (5.08 cm) deep. • Flush cracks and joints clean using an appropriate cleaning solution and rinse well. Use clean, oil free, compressed air to blow out any remaining dust, water, or debris prior to installation. • For best results and for optimum caulk performance, it is recommended to prime the inside areas of all cracks and joints with PRO-Tekt SP Check our website for the latest version of the Technical Datasheet. www.aquafin.net

All data are averages of several tests under laboratory conditions. In practice climatic variations such as temperature, humidity, and porosity of substrate may affect these values
(Sealant Primer) prior to the application of PRO-Tekt Caulk. Refer to the current PRO-Tekt SP (Sealant Primer) Technical Data Sheet for all application instructions, including surface preparation, etc. Pay close attention to recoat times. • All surfaces whether primed or unprimed must be completely dry and clean prior to application of PRO-Tekt Caulk. • Substrate and ambient temperatures must be between 20°F to 135°F (-6.6°C to 57°C). Mixing: Condition all components 75°F to 80°F (24°C to 27°C) prior to mixing and application. Carefully mix component B individually at a slow speed (300 – 500 rpm) until a homogeneous mixture is achieved. Do not mix in an up and down motion. Component A does not require individual mixing. PRO-Tekt Caulk Installation: Read all instructions thoroughly prior to installation. • Equipment and Tools required: • Portable joint filler pump and dispensing system for 1:1 ratio polyurea caulk applications such as Graco Reactor E-10. • Ample supply of disposable static mixing tubes. • Application: Follow all written instructions from the pump manufacturer and adhere to safe work practices. Fill one pump tank with component A and the other pump tank with component B. Set pump to dispense at a 1 part component A to 1 part component B volume ratio (1A:1B). • Control Joints: If a backer rod is used, depth should not be more than 25% of the total slab thickness. Apply PRO-Tekt Caulk over the backer rod. The use of a backer rod is optional. If no backer rod is used, fill all control joints to full depth thickness with PRO-Tekt Caulk. • Construction Joints: Do not use backer rod or sand. Fill all construction joints to full depth thickness with PRO-Tekt Caulk. • Cracks: Fill all cracks flush with PRO-Tekt Caulk. Tool and finish joints and cracks according to project drawings and specifications. Excess caulk can be shaved off top of joints and cracks after approx. 90 minutes [based on 75°F (24°C)]. Clean-up: TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: Remove fresh/uncured material with an approved solvent. Cured material can only be removed mechanically. MATERIAL: Dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal disposal regulations. Limitations: • Do not dilute or thin product. • The physical properties of PRO-Tekt Caulk are UV stable. However, discoloration will occur in direct sunlight. • Do not use PRO-Tekt Caulk in submerged applications. Ensure that there is proper drainage in all areas where PRO-Tekt Caulk is used. • Contact Aquafin Technical Department for use in areas not listed. • Curing time will vary, depending on surface temperatures, air temperatures, and humidity. Cold temperatures and low humidity will extend the curing time. High temperatures and high humidity will shorten the curing time. • Consult Aquafin Technical Department when mixing or placing outside of the temperature recommendations listed.
Note: Proper application is the responsibility of the user. Field visits by AQUAFIN personnel are for the purpose of making technical recommendations and not for supervising or providing quality control on-site. For commercial use only. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear rubber gloves and safety goggles during mixing and application. After contact with skin, wash with plenty of water. In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes and seek medical advice. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN. LIMITED WARRANTY: AQUAFIN, INC. warrants this product for a period of one year from the date of installation to be manufactured free of defects and to be consistent with its technical properties as stated in our current Technical Data Sheet. This product must be used as directed and within its stated shelf life. AQUAFIN INC. will replace or at our discretion refund the purchase price of any product, excluding cost of labor, which is proven to be defective. Our product recommendations are based on industry standards and testing procedures. It is the buyer’s obligation to test the suitability of the product for an intended use prior to using it. We assume no warranties written, expressed or implied as to any specific methods of application or use of the product. In addition, no warranty or guarantee is being issued with respect to appearance, color, fading, chalking, staining, shrinkage, peeling, normal wear and tear, damage caused by abuse, neglect and lack of proper maintenance, acts of nature and/or physical movement of the substrate or structural defects.
